Featherstone Lions will be looking to make ground on leaders Crusaders Colts when they host Sheffield Hillsborough Hawks in this weekends “Friday Night Footy.”

The Lions are currently well placed in second spot and despite being two points of adrift of the Colts have three games in hand on their Welsh rivals. By contrast the Hawks have suffered an indifferent season so far and are currently 10 points away from the last play off spot.

Sunday will see a further four league games take place, with current leaders Crusaders Colts looking to maintain top spot by returning home with two points from Widnes West Bank Bears.

Other encounters see Gateshead Thunder make the long trip down south to face Hemel Stags and Ince Rose Bridge play host to cross Pennine rivals Keighley Cougar Cubs.

However, potentially the biggest turnout could be at Barrow, where the Laikers will try and make home advantage count against a West Cumbria side that has still not given up hope on a top spot finish.

Several other sides in the competition are in cup action and will therefore have to wait till next week for a return to league action.
